Pita Bread

Traditional dish of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine. Pita bread is eaten with hummus or can be filled with falafel and vegetables. It is estimated that this recipe originated about 14,500 years ago, during the Stone Age. Try this simple pita recipe.

 350 g All purpose Flouror Bread Flour
 150 g Whole Wheat Flour
 10 g Salt
 3 g Dry Yeast
 350 ml Water

Mix all ingredients and let prove for 1 hour. You can fold the bread once after 15 minutes. Form 80g balls, dip in flour and flat out with rolling pin.

Bake in the pizza oven heated up to 500C. If you bake in the oven, use a heated pizza stone and set the temperature as high as possible. Remove bread from oven on it puffs out and has some color.
